About The Position

Crusoe is a vertically integrated AI infrastructure company with a mission to accelerate the abundance of energy and intelligence. We design and build our own data centers, manufacture critical infrastructure components, and operate our cloud platform. Our unique position — spanning power, manufacturing, infrastructure, compute, and AI services — gives us the ability to move faster and differentiate in ways that horizontally organized competitors cannot. The Strategy team exists to turn that structural advantage into action. We develop, evaluate, and drive strategic initiatives that align with Crusoe’s mission and compound our differentiation over time. You will be a Manager on this team, responsible for screening new opportunities, leading in-depth evaluations, and driving cross-functional work to bring the strongest concepts to life. This is not a support role. You will own initiatives end-to-end, present findings directly to the C-suite, and shape where this company invests its capital and attention. Your Mission: Turn ambiguity into conviction. Your job is to take emerging market signals, inbound partnership pitches, and early-stage concepts and produce clear, defensible recommendations that the most senior people at Crusoe can act on. You will do this by pulling on domain expertise from business units, R&D, corporate functions, and external experts then synthesizing it into a point of view that enables quality decisions and thoughtful risk management. This role blends strategic analysis with operational execution. Some opportunities will require deep analytical work; others will require you to lead a cross-functional group to develop a concept, manage workstreams, and test hypotheses. You should be equally comfortable building a financial model and running a kickoff meeting. Over time, you will develop a thematic specialization based on your background and the evolving needs of the business. Regardless of lane, you will be expected to operate across the full Crusoe stack and maintain fluency in all of it.

Requirements

  • 5–8 years of experience in management consulting, corporate development, venture capital, or strategy at a high-growth technology or infrastructure company.
  • Demonstrated experience producing executive-level written deliverables: investment memos, board materials, strategic recommendations with financial backing.
  • Track record of independently owning complex, multi-stakeholder analytical projects with senior leadership as the audience.
  • Experience leading cross-functional workstreams — not just contributing to them. You have been the person responsible for driving an initiative across teams with competing priorities.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguous environments where the scope, process, and answer are not predefined. You have built the path, not just walked it.
  • Evidence of building productive stakeholder relationships across organizational boundaries, particularly with technical, operational, and commercial teams.
  • Domain exposure to one or more of the following: data center infrastructure, energy and power markets, AI products and computing.
  • Ownership Mentality: You take full accountability for your work and your recommendations. When you own an initiative, you own it completely — the analysis, the stakeholder coordination, the recommendation, and the outcome.
  • Executive Presence: You are credible and composed in front of Directors and VPs. You can hold a room and drive a productive discussion under pressure.
  • Speed with Rigor: You default to action and produce high-quality work on compressed timelines.
  • Organizational Fluency: You navigate cross-functional complexity without creating friction. You pull on teams by adding value, not by creating work.
  • Intellectual Curiosity: You are energized by learning how a data center actually works, how power is traded, or how infrastructure scales.

Responsibilities

  • Opportunity Screening Lead initial strategic fit assessments for new opportunities, determining whether they warrant deeper investment of team time and resources. Produce written recommendations with clear reasoning for advancing or declining opportunities. Build and maintain the institutional record of evaluated opportunities so that Crusoe learns from every decision.
  • Strategic Evaluation & Cross-Functional Execution Own full evaluation cycles for assigned initiatives: market sizing, financial modeling, competitive landscape analysis, risk assessment, and strategic fit. Lead cross-functional working groups to develop concepts that require input and coordination across multiple business units. Drive the process from early scoping through executive decision and integration. Produce robust, fact-based whitepapers that stand on their own as decision documents for senior leadership. Coordinate with executive sponsors and pull structured inputs from teams across the organization without creating deliverable burden on those teams.
  • Relationship Management & Organizational Navigation Build strong, trust-based relationships across Crusoe’s divisions — engineering, manufacturing, infrastructure, product, energy, finance, and corporate development — so that you know who to ask what question and have the credibility to get high engagement when you do. Invest in understanding each team’s priorities, constraints, and expertise so that your outreach adds value rather than creating work. Socialize strategic concepts with Directors and VPs across business units, building organizational context and alignment ahead of executive decisions.
  • Market Intelligence & Strategic Context Stay current on market trends, emerging technologies, competitive dynamics, and developments in the AI infrastructure landscape to ensure the team’s evaluations are grounded in the latest context. Proactively surface opportunities and risks based on your market awareness, not just evaluate what comes inbound. Drive strategic insights and develop theories of investment (internal and external) by translating Crusoe’s strategy into operational deliverables.
