About The Position

West Monroe is seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager of Strategic Finance to join our growing Operations Excellence practice. This role is designed for a finance leader who thrives at the intersection of financial analysis, business strategy, and performance improvement, and who is passionate about helping clients translate data into insight, insight into action, and action into measurable value creation. As a Manager, you will lead client engagements focused on FP&A transformation, performance management, and EBITDA improvement, partnering closely with CFOs, finance leaders, and business executives. You will help clients strengthen budgeting, forecasting and planning, improve management reporting, and embed financial insight into day-to-day decision-making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in Strategic Finance and FP&A, including planning, forecasting, modeling, and performance management—within consulting, industry, or a hybrid environment.
  • Strong experience developing financial models, business cases, and scenario analyses that drive executive decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and deliver EBITDA improvement opportunities through cost, margin, pricing, or productivity initiatives.
  • Advanced Excel and analytical skills; experience with dashboards, reporting tools, and data visualization platforms.
  • Proven people leadership experience with a passion for mentoring and developing teams.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to craft executive-ready insights and recommendations.
  • Comfort working with ambiguity and complex business problems in a client-facing environment.

  • Ability to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic finance and FP&A-focused engagements, including financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and performance management assessments and transformations.
  • Partner with CFOs, FP&A leaders, and business executives to identify value drivers, assess financial performance, and translate strategic priorities into actionable financial plans.
  • Design and implement management reporting, dashboards, and executive scorecards that drive accountability, operational focus, and performance improvement.
  • Develop and enhance financial models, scenario analyses, and business cases to support growth initiatives, cost optimization, pricing strategies, and capital allocation decisions.
  • Drive EBITDA improvement initiatives by identifying margin opportunities, cost levers, productivity improvements, and revenue-enhancing actions across the business.
  • Improve forecasting accuracy and decision quality by aligning financial plans with operational drivers and business metrics.
  • Ensure delivery excellence through effective management of scope, timelines, budgets, and quality.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor consultants, fostering growth in finance transformation capabilities, client leadership, and delivery excellence.
  • Provide hands-on quality review and guidance on analyses, deliverables, and client communications.
  • Establish clear expectations, promote collaboration, and ensure alignment with West Monroe’s transformation methodologies and delivery standards.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and identify opportunities to expand strategic finance scope within existing client engagements.
  • Contribute to proposals, thought leadership, and solution development focused on CFO transformation, finance modernization, and value realization.
  • Stay current on emerging finance trends, technologies, and operating model innovations to continuously elevate client impact.
  • Contribute to the growth of the Office of the CFO practice by developing methodologies, playbooks, tools, and reusable assets.
  • Support recruiting, onboarding, and training initiatives to build a high-performing finance transformation team.
  • Represent West Monroe through industry events, conferences, and external thought leadership.
