About The Position

The Financial Reporting Manager at Schwab Stock Plan Services (SPS) plays a crucial role in providing support services to corporate clients regarding equity compensation accounting concepts. This position requires expertise in ASC 718 and IFRS 2, along with the ability to deliver training on advanced accounting topics. Requirements

  • At least 5 years work experience in the financial services industry with a minimum of 3 years in the equity compensation industry and at least 2 years working with ASC 718/IFRS2.
  • Ability to balance the needs of clients and implement SPS best practices.
  • Strong communication skills to build positive working relationships with clients and internal partners.
  • Self-directed and self-motivated, able to work independently while achieving team-oriented objectives.
  • Well organized with effective time management skills.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and prioritize competing deadlines.
  • High attention to detail and ability to see projects through from concept to implementation.
  • Strong business analysis and problem-solving skills, with multi-tasking capabilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment to achieve the best outcomes for clients.
  • Excellent critical analysis skills with a high attention to detail to improve existing processes and innovate solutions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to explain data and analysis effectively to all levels of leadership.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Provide proactive financial reporting support to corporate clients and make recommendations to address reporting challenges.
  • Lead discovery and consultation conversations with corporate clients to determine their needs.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in domestic and international share-based payment concepts.
  • Understand overall stock plan record-keeping system architecture and functionality.
  • Understand the Schwab EquiView financial reporting system from settings configuration to expense and disclosure reporting calculations.
  • Monitor regulatory changes, drive thought leadership efforts, and provide sales support.
  • Identify development opportunities, gather business requirements, and work with Product Management to implement new financial reporting features.
