Job Summary The Sterile Processing Manager provides strategic leadership and oversight for all sterile processing functions across the organization. This role ensures effective department performance through policy development, staff leadership, regulatory compliance, and alignment with hospital goals. The manager collaborates closely with perioperative leadership to support safe surgical outcomes and drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Strong leadership and organizational development abilities
  • Deep knowledge of regulatory and industry standards
  • Budgeting, resource planning, and performance measurement experience
  • High-level communication and cross-department collaboration skills
  • Skilled in data analysis and action planning for operational improvement
  • Commitment to excellence, safety, and staff engagement
  • CRCST or CBSPD required
  • Minimum of 5 years of sterile processing experience, including 2+ years in management or leadership roles preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare, business, or related field preferred
  • Associate degree and extensive sterile processing leadership experience may be considered
  • CHL (Certified Healthcare Leader) or equivalent management credential preferred

Responsibilities

  • Direct daily and long-term operations of the sterile processing department
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and strategic initiatives
  • Lead department hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management
  • Ensure full regulatory compliance and readiness for accreditation surveys
  • Monitor KPIs, safety data, and implement process improvements
  • Collaborate with OR, infection control, supply chain, and administrative leadership
  • Manage departmental budget, contracts, and capital equipment planning
  • Oversee staff scheduling, certification tracking, and continuing education
  • Champion a culture of accountability, quality, and professional development
