About The Position

As Manager, U.S. Privacy Compliance, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping enterprise privacy practices that safeguard customer trust and enable responsible innovation. In this role, you’ll lead efforts to interpret and operationalize U.S. state and federal privacy laws, perform privacy impact assessments, and partner with Legal, Engineering, Marketing, and Technology teams to implement practical, scalable solutions. About the Privacy Compliance Team We serve as a centralized partner to business units, Legal, Marketing, and Technology teams to translate regulatory requirements into clear policies, training, and controls. Our mission is to enable the business to move fast—securely—by embedding privacy-by-design, measuring adherence, and driving continuous improvement. In this role, you’ll influence enterprise standards, guide privacy requirements for new applications, and help the company protect data, uphold customer trust, and meet evolving obligations across stores, clubs, and corporate operations.

Requirements

  • Expertise in U.S. privacy laws and hands-on experience building and managing impact assessments.
  • Strong understanding of marketing compliance requirements (TCPA, CAN-SPAM) and digital advertising technologies.
  • Ability to work effectively across Legal, Engineering, Marketing, and Technology teams.
  • Knowledge of COPPA, age-verification requirements, and safeguarding sensitive data categories.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to simplify complex regulations into practical guidance.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
  • Collaborative mindset with influence and negotiation skills.
  • Proven success in project management and driving multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Ambitious and self-driven, with a proactive approach to identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field and 2 years’ experience in compliance, ethics, legal, project management, or related area OR 4 years’ experience in compliance, ethics, legal, project management, or related area.
  • 2 years’ experience using intermediate functionality of Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Review and interpret U.S. state and federal privacy laws, including CCPA and emerging regulations.
  • Perform Data Privacy Impact Assessments and partner with stakeholders to mitigate risks.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Engineering, Marketing, and Technology teams to implement compliant solutions.
  • Develop and operationalize privacy policies, procedures, and training programs.
  • Advise on marketing privacy requirements, including opt-in/opt-out processes for SMS programs (TCPA), email campaigns (CAN-SPAM), and other marketing channels.
  • Provide guidance on ad technology and digital tracking tools such as cookies, pixels, and beacons.
  • Protect sensitive personal information, including Consumer Health Data and Child/Teen data, ensuring compliance with COPPA and app age-verification laws.
  • Build metrics, audits, and action plans to measure compliance and drive improvements.
  • Support privacy-by-design in new systems and applications, ensuring security and compliance from inception.
