About The Position

What You’ll Do: Lead and develop a team of commodity leads to execute supplier strategies that achieve aggressive cost reduction, quality, and service performance targets. Serve as the escalation point and strategic advisor for complex supplier management issues related to commodities, contract manufacturers (CM), or OEM partners. Set organizational structure, hire and develop talent, create job descriptions, define objectives, establish KPIs, and drive performance management for the sourcing team. Influence and align cross-functional stakeholders across departments and divisions to support and implement consistent global commodity and CM/OEM strategies. Oversee key sourcing processes including supplier and market analysis, cost modeling, supplier negotiations, contract development and management (including supply and quality agreements), supplier selection, performance monitoring, and risk mitigation. Partner with process owners and leadership to align sourcing goals, strategies, and initiatives with broader company objectives. Champion company-wide initiatives to build and deploy decision-support tools, data systems, and analytics that enhance supply chain visibility, decision-making, and performance tracking. Demonstrate strong peer leadership and influence at the management level to drive organizational change and strategic outcomes. What You Bring: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Finance, Business, or equivalent field. 7+ years of progressive experience in Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, or related functions within a manufacturing environment (medical device experience strongly preferred). Proven track record managing commodities, strategic sourcing teams, or supplier development in a manufacturing setting. Experience developing, negotiating, and implementing commercial contracts, including supply agreements and quality assurance agreements (QAA). Strong financial analysis, cost modeling, negotiation, and strategic thinking skills. Demonstrated ability to lead, influence, and collaborate across multiple departments, functions, and levels of the organization. Supply Chain and/or Medical Device quality certifications or relevant training is a plus. Up to 20% travel required (domestic and potentially international to support supplier relationships and initiatives). Comfortable in a general office setting with standard physical requirements (prolonged sitting, computer work, occasional lifting/moving of objects). Why VB Spine? Compensation: Pay for this role is competitive and based on experience, with additional factors like qualifications, location, and performance taken into account, with potential for bonuses and incentives plus benefits. Final compensation is determined on a case-by-case basis and considers a variety of factors including experience level, skillset, and market conditions. Requirements
