The role includes participating in architectural reviews, mentoring junior engineers, and implementing both functional and non-functional requirements of software systems. Additionally, the Software Engineering Manager promotes and integrates DevOps best practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement through regular retrospectives, feedback loops, and process enhancements. They develop and maintain a comprehensive live site rotation schedule to ensure 24/7 support coverage by training and mentoring team members, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary tools and knowledge to handle live site issues effectively. The manager acts as the primary point of contact for live site incidents, overseeing the triage process and conducting root cause analyses. They document and communicate incident reports, resolutions, and lessons learned to relevant stakeholders, ensuring transparency and continuous improvement.
