About The Position

This Engineering Manager for the Braintree Web SDK team will lead a group of experienced engineers to deliver high-quality, developer-focused SDKs and payment solutions that power merchant integrations worldwide. This role combines technical leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and community engagement to drive innovation in online payments and elevate the overall developer experience.

Requirements

  • 5+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • +7 years of Web Development experience
  • +3 years of experience working in a large-scale organization
  • Proven experience in a leadership (Manager or Tech-Lead) role, preferably in a Web, Full-Stack or SDK development environment
  • Passion for mentoring and developing engineering talent
  • Experience building JavaScript and TypeScript applications
  • Experience in developer-facing products (e.g. SDKs, REST APIs, GraphQL) or products that enable third-party application development

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with payment processing, e-commerce, or financial technology is a major plus

Responsibilities

  • Directly manages software development projects (including program management) and execution through individual contributors. May also lead project teams across platforms or groups
  • Implements processes to drive strong operational hygiene for all components and systems within their group
  • Responsible for the delivery of projects, including quality and timeliness, that impact their domain and potentially one other
  • Demonstrates strong tactical ability by managing the roadmap for a scrum team responsible for technical issues of diverse scope where analysis requires an understanding of current business or tends
  • Competent at communicating technical issues with non-technical audiences
  • Analyzes multiple sources of information and identifies & resolves complex technical, operational, and organizational problems relating to software development.
  • Collaborates with direct team, managers in org, stakeholders such as Product Owners & PMO
  • Managing a team of engineers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable solutions, and engaging with external developers
  • Set clear goals, define project requirements, and manage priorities in collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Implement best practices and drive technical excellence by understanding and addressing developers' needs
  • Oversee the development of new payment methods and features, shaping the next generation of our developer experience
