About The Position

As a Manager of Software Engineering for the Search Platform, you will play a crucial role in leading a team that designs and builds scalable services to enhance Figma's search capabilities. The Search Platform team is responsible for developing a flexible and configurable indexing solution that allows various teams to index any content efficiently. This role involves abstracting the complexities of search cluster resource creation and management while ensuring infrastructure-level service level objectives (SLOs) and providing out-of-the-box observability. You will collaborate closely with Figma's Search Experience team and other product teams to leverage the search platform for creating optimal search experiences. In this full-time position, you will be responsible for hiring, managing, supporting, and developing a team of engineers. You will build and execute a long-term roadmap to evolve and scale the Search platform capabilities. Partnering with engineering leadership, you will set the strategy, priorities, and mission for your teams and projects. Establishing trust and accountability within and across teams is essential, as is creating a positive work environment in collaboration with other leaders in the organization.
