The Manager Software Engineering 2 position at Northrop Grumman involves leading a team of embedded flight software engineers in the development and support of satellite systems.   • Provide operational guidance for definition, development, and verification of products and capabilities.
  • Identify and implement people, processes, and tools to support multiple Product Lines.
  • Accountable for recruiting, staffing, and retaining talent.
  • Identify high-quality technical personnel to meet business demands.
  • Provide technical and people leadership across multiple locations and programs.
  • Oversee and lead Embedded Flight Software teams.
  • Support and promote process improvement initiatives and monitor engineering efficiency and quality metrics.
  • Ensure staff allocation to minimize overhead expenses and meet development schedules.
  • Manage a group of embedded flight software engineers while supporting programs in a development and/or leadership capacity.
  • Bachelor of Science in a STEM field with 8 years of Software/Systems related experience.
  • High proficiency in technical problem solving including decomposition, root cause analysis, and solution development.
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI clearance.
  • Experience in requirements analysis, modeling and simulation, verification and validation at subsystem and system level.
  • Demonstrated software engineering, controls, or systems engineering leadership experience, preferably in Space Flight Software.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance.
  • Experience in a technical leadership/management role.
  • Experience with Earned Value Management.
  • Working knowledge of Staffing, Engineering Metrics and Training resources.
  • Demonstrated systems engineering excellence in requirements analysis and validation.
  • Experience in developing and integrating software and hardware solutions for space applications.
  • Hands-on technical experience with spacecraft or satellite related systems.
