Requirements

  • BS + 5 years of experience in related STEM field; MS + 3 years of experience.
  • Full understanding of specific discipline including object-oriented programming experience in C++/Java/LabVIEW.
  • Active Top Secret Security/Sensitive Compartmentalized Information (SCI) Clearance.
  • Candidate must be able to work on site at the McClellan, California facility.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a lab environment.
  • Previous experience as a functional manager or technical team leader.
  • Experience with DevOps technologies including Atlassian suite, Jenkins.
  • Familiarity with EVMS Reporting and CAM responsibilities.
  • Experience writing and automating unit and integration tests.
  • Experience designing and implementing solutions with minimal requirements.
  • Ability to automate experimental tasks using high level and built-in software languages.
  • Full life cycle design, implementation, and feature/automated testing of software.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a section of approximately 8-12 application software engineers.
  • Coordinate with programs for staffing, recruiting, and training.
  • Prepare and deliver performance reviews to employees.
  • Evaluate and recommend employees for promotions.
  • Evaluate salaries and coordinate with Human Resources on potential adjustments.
  • Assist employees in preparing performance goals.
  • Provide career guidance to employees and counsel them on performance as necessary.
  • Support a team of 8-12 technical staff in a management role.
  • Lead program engineering execution for hardware design and deployment projects.
  • Accountable to stakeholders and program managers for status updates, issue resolution, and overall engineering execution.
  • Partner with program management office to ensure successful execution against cost, schedule and hiring targets.
  • Provide technical leadership to the team and ensure proper engineering processes and procedures are followed.
  • Work with peers and training leads to identify critical skill shortfalls and develop appropriate technical training.
  • Debug existing software tools and support implementation of new capabilities.
  • Support the current and future development of test platforms within function, cost and schedule constraints.
