About The Position

The Manager, Service Insights and Analytics will lead a team of Insight and Reporting Analysts to transform data into insights that will help drive business forward. This role involves collaborating with key partners across the Risk Org and maximizing enterprise-wide resources to identify objectives, expand, and deliver business intelligence solutions. The incumbent will provide data-driven insights that influence business strategy, support operational and talent needs, and improve the end-user experience. Responsibilities include identifying and utilizing multiple data sources, BI, and analytics solutions, guiding data strategy across various touch points, and centralizing, building, and running interactive and standardized dashboards, reports, and data models.

Requirements

  • Five (5) years of experience working in data analysis and statistical modeling or professional experience in a data driven environment.
  • Five (5) years of experience in a role generating data insights and recommendations.
  • Five (5) years of technical knowledge on data architecture and data integration.
  • Ability to consistently demonstrate strong reasoning and analytical skills, perform complex analyses using multiple data sources, develop detailed project planning, and exhibit a passion for attention to detail.
  • Strong data visualization skills including the ability to translate multi-dimensional data into clear and concise storytelling that provides actionable insights.
  • Advanced proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet software, and Microsoft Project, Visio, Outlook, and SharePoint (or similar programs).
  • Extensive experience using project management and data visualization tools and statistical software (SAS, R).
  • BA/BS degree in Business, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Architecture, or a similar field of study, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong influencing and networking skills to build and foster existing consultative relationships that drive synergy and partnership opportunities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats.
  • Ability to deliver compelling presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to negotiate with and influence others across all organizational levels and functions.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, work in fast-paced environment, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment in making decisions and interact effectively and positively with all levels of company personnel, member-owners, credit unions/prospects and vendors/partners.
  • Ability to work autonomously and make independent decisions to meet deliverables with minimal oversight.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of materials handled.
  • Ability to be flexible and work under high pressure in a complex environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience training others in the analysis and reporting of data strongly preferred.
  • Master’s in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistic, Business or an advanced degree in quantitative analysis preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with leaders across the Risk Org to identify business priorities for which insights are critical; find opportunities; Lead, design, develop, and implement analytic strategies.
  • Serve as an expert liaison between various VELERA Business Units by providing strategic leadership support and consultation to key change management and critical initiatives.
  • Design, build and implement an innovative reporting portal to significantly improve Risk enterprise view of performance.
  • Identify emerging trends and evaluate/recommend tools and technologies that will contribute to ongoing growth of data needs.
  • Establish a process warehousing.
  • Lead the architecture, design, development, and maintenance of master data, including rationalization and management of data across the full lifecycle.
  • Lead identification, development, and execution of analytics initiatives to enable business decisions.
  • Partner with applicable collaborators to ensure insights translate to strategies and tactical actions that achieve financial goals and operational efficiency across the organization.
  • Lead creation and execution of consistent reporting, forecasting, and diagnostic analyses of business issues.
  • Provide thought leadership in design of methods and selection of data set(s) to improve data-driven insights for internal/external users.
  • Influence and network to build and foster existing consultative relationships that drive synergy and partnership opportunities.
  • Connect and transform data from multiple systems and platforms into useful analysis, dashboards, and forecasts that support business needs.
  • Identify process improvement processes across the Risk Org to ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness and accountability.
  • Maintain continuous improvement.
  • Provide direction and leadership to staff; guide, coach, mentor and develop staff ensuring compliance with processes and procedures.
  • Handle interviewing, hiring, promotions, transfers, performance appraisals, compensation, counseling and termination of staff.
  • Develop and maintain staff by applying the necessary training and leadership that will allow internal growth and advancement.
  • Direct staff, to ensure that all duties are performed according to department performance standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for reporting risks that are identified to the appropriate team and/or management.
  • Responsible for managing, monitoring and reporting risks within the scope of your work area, to include, but not limited to Information Security risks.
