About The Position

Manager, Security Operations Center - The Auto Club Group What you will do: The Manager of the Security Operations Center (SOC) is responsible for the 24/7 operation of ACG’s global security monitoring and incident response hub. This role ensures the SOC functions as a state-of-the-art hub for real-time security monitoring, crisis response, and intelligence analysis to protect ACG’s employees, facilities, and operations worldwide. Additionally, this role is responsible for physical security project management, oversite, and physical security infrastructure implementation. The SOC Manager oversees a team of analysts and operators who monitor security systems, assess incoming threats or incidents, and coordinate appropriate responses. The manager drives the continuous improvement of SOC processes, technologies, and staff performance, aligning SOC capabilities with ACG’s overall security objectives. They also maintain close integration between the SOC and other security functions (Protective Intelligence, Physical Security, Business Continuity) to ensure a unified and swift response to any security issue or emergency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Security Management, Emergency Management, Information Systems or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • seven years as a supervisor in a corporate security operations center or similar setting testing and maintenance of physical security and life safety systems including access control, video identification badge, fire/burglar alarm and closed circuit television security systems
  • Experience to include: application of physical security systems to include perimeter protection, access control, intrusion detection, video systems, locks, key control and safes managing day-to-day functions, operational objectives and performance of operations center staff including: preparing and monitoring budgets, providing work direction and guidance, managing employee work performance, prioritizing work schedules, organization & planning managing projects working with project teams and contractors to install security systems
  • Knowledge and Skills: Demonstrated advanced knowledge in: access control, video identification badge, fire/burglar alarm and closed circuit television systems operational knowledge of Perspective or similar security information management software and other related database systems
  • Demonstrated Ability to: manage day-to-day functions, operational objectives and performance of security staff prioritize service needs under pressure of time constraints and workload manage and direct staff and operations in emergency and crisis situations under very stressful conditions effectively communicating with others in a work environment and with the public respond quickly and effectively during stressful and intense situations coordinate and control major projects identify and resolve problems

Nice To Haves

  • Master Degree Emergency Management or related field
  • Relevant certifications such as ASIS Physical Security Professional (PSP), Certified Protection Professional (CPP), or Certified Emergency Manager (CEM)

Responsibilities

  • SOC Operations Leadership & Training: Manages shift schedules and staffing to maintain round-the-clock coverage with well-trained analysts. Establishes protocols so that every alert, alarm, or incident report is promptly evaluated and acted upon according to severity. Develops a training program that covers technical skills (e.g., alarm monitoring, OSINT basics), scenario drills, and soft skills (communication under stress), to maintain a high-performance team that can adapt to emerging threats.
  • Security Systems Management: Oversee the deployment, maintenance, and effectiveness of physical security systems including alarms, video surveillance (CCTV), access control systems, locks, and other protective devices. Works with the Physical Security Project Consultant and IT teams to ensure systems are properly installed and integrated.
  • Incident Detection and Response: Ensures the SOC is effectively detecting, analyzing, and responding to security incidents of all types (e.g., facility alarms, access control breaches, executive duress alarms, travel security emergencies, natural disaster impacts to sites). Develops and refines SOPs for incident management, so that the SOC coordinates immediate actions (dispatching security personnel, notifying management, liaising with emergency services) and escalates incidents appropriately. Implements an incident classification system and response playbooks to standardize reactions to common scenarios.
  • Strategic Development & Integration: Supports the design and continual development of ACG’s SOC capabilities. Benchmarks the SOC’s performance and practices against industry best-in-class operations. Aligns SOC initiatives with ACG’s broader security strategy, ensuring the SOC provides actionable.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: Manage a team of Security Operations Center Coordinators, Lead Coordinators in a 24/7 operation. Select, hire, train, develop and coach assigned staff in accordance with corporate and Human Resource guidelines.
