Requirements

  • Previous aviation safety or similar industry experience preferred
  • Proven strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and work in a team environment
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to research, analyze, problem solve and multi-task
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Advanced knowledge Aviation safety standards and safe operating practices, FAR's, SMS, FOQA, IEP
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Responsibilities

  • Maintain oversight of, and ensure quality of SWC safety and security programs
  • Assist leadership team in providing the safest operating environment for SWC passengers and employees
  • Manage, monitor and coordinate SMS processes
  • Maintain oversight of critical safety programs including but not limited to SMS, ASAP, FOQA, FRMP
  • Assess operations to identify risks using information received from ASAP, FOQA, FRMP, IEP, IOR, LOSA, SCR, VDR programs
  • Conduct weekly safety briefings with leadership
  • Conduct safety round table meetings as required
  • Prepare and present relevant safety data and risk analysis information to leadership during the Executive Safety Brief (ESB)
  • Represent SWC safety in meetings with regulatory and industry agencies
  • Participate in monthly maintenance Continuing Analysis and Surveillance System (CASS) briefing
  • Ensure all safety investigation processes are documented and completed
  • Monitor SWC safety performance via Safety Assurance (SA) against set goals and report the results to leadership
  • Make recommendations for corrective action to leadership for all identified hazards
  • Track effectiveness of corrective actions implemented by departments to reduce/eliminate risk
  • Responsible for Emergency Response program, including development, implementation, and maintenance of Emergency Response Plan
  • Maintain oversight of SWC security program, all security-related functions, DG/HM programs
  • Primary liaison with Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Principal Security Inspector (PSI)
  • Ensure all Security policies, procedures, processes and training programs are implemented and performing as required
  • Monitoring regulatory advisories and industry notices for changes to FARs, TSA regulations [e.g., Security Directives (SDs)], and emergency operational restrictions that could affect the safety or security of SWC’s operations
