About The Position

Your role is important and below are some of the fundamental job duties that make your work unique. What your day will be like: Oversee daily operations of the 401(k)/Defined Contribution (DC) Plan, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and processing of contributions, distributions, loans, and corrections. Manage ongoing administration of Defined Benefit (DB) pension plans, including benefit calculations, maintaining participant data accuracy, retiree and terminated vested records, and handling complex case escalations. Be a primary point of contact for retirement plan vendors—recordkeepers, actuaries, consultants, and investment advisors—ensuring consistent, high‑quality service delivery. Address participant inquiries with empathy, resolving complex issues and supporting retirement readiness initiatives. Maintain internal controls, documentation, and procedures to ensure compliance with ERISA, IRS, DOL, and PBGC regulations. Communicating technical concepts to diverse audiences. How you will collaborate with others: Partner with HR, Payroll, Finance, IT, and Legal to ensure seamless end‑to-end processes for retirement plan operations. Work with internal and external counsel on plan amendments, regulatory updates, and governance matters for both DC and DB plans. Collaborate with investment advisors, consultants, and recordkeepers to support governance, process improvement, and a high-quality participant experience. Coordinate with actuaries and finance teams on DB plan valuations, funding strategies, PBGC filings, and long‑term liability projections. What projects you will take ownership of: Manage all DC plan compliance activities, including plan audits, nondiscrimination testing, Form 5500 preparation, and regulatory filings. Lead the administration of annual DB plan valuation cycles, de‑risking strategies, audits, and benefit calculation reviews. Help prepare materials and supporting quarterly fiduciary committee meetings and documentation. Coordinate participant experience initiatives, such as communication campaigns, education sessions, and digital experience enhancements. Improve operational processes, documentation, policies, and internal controls. Monitor legislation and regulatory changes, recommending and implementing plan updates.

Requirements

  • Six (6) years of experience administering retirement plans, with direct experience in both 401(k)/DC and DB plans.
  • Working knowledge of ERISA, IRS, DOL, and PBGC regulatory requirements.
  • Experience working with retirement plan vendors such as recordkeepers, actuaries, and investment advisors.
  • Analytical and problem‑solving skills, especially with complex data and casework.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Finance, Business Administration, or a related advanced degree.
  • Professional certifications such as CEBS, QKA, or ASPPA designations.
  • Experience contributing to digital experience enhancements or technology‑driven process improvements.
