About The Position

As a Retail Account Manager, you'll be the driving force behind increasing sales, market share, and profitability for both the client and Acosta. You'll build strong relationships with customer accounts, deliver impactful retail strategies, and ensure deep market penetration across your assigned division or geography.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in retail account management, sales, or merchandising.
  • Proven track record of managing retail accounts and driving revenue growth.
  • Strong understanding of retail operations, product placement, and promotional strategies.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with internal teams and external partners.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with CRM and retail analytics tools is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive collaboration on major retail initiatives.
  • Personally engage decision-makers to present business plans, programs, and concepts that enhance long-term results and boost in-store presence.
  • Communicate professionally and proactively using the most effective channels for each audience (e.g., phone, email, in-person).
  • Deliver compelling presentations and leverage strong analytical and negotiation skills to influence outcomes.
  • Understand client needs and execute business plans that improve visibility and grow the independent business base.
  • Collaborate with team members to create innovative tools, programs, and merchandising strategies that increase revenue.
  • Utilize promotional tools and develop monthly communication strategies to highlight pallet book promos, shippers, and seasonal offers.
  • Maximize shelf distribution opportunities using sales tools and convert voids into everyday turn business.
  • Expand store coverage within your assigned route and geography.
  • Adhere to organizational policies and complete special projects related to expense control and operational efficiency.
  • Partner with Retail Business Managers on key initiatives such as new product launches, selling drives, and contests.
  • Provide insights on local competitive activity, customer feedback, and market successes to identify new opportunities.
  • Support additional special projects as needed to drive business growth.
