Requirements

  • Completion of a CoARC approved respiratory care program.
  • Bachelor's in respiratory care, Healthcare Administration, or other healthcare leadership related field.
  • Master's degree or higher preferred.
  • Strong clinical knowledge and expertise in respiratory care.
  • Strong leadership and management experience.
  • Three or more years of clinical management experience in Respiratory Care preferred.
  • Complex critical care experience preferred.
  • Registration (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).

Responsibilities

  • Manage and monitor delivery of patient care for assigned areas of service.
  • Ensure compliance with clinical patient care standards, regulatory requirements, and established policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Assess clinical needs based on customer feedback and develop programs to meet identified needs.
  • Support and promote a professional practice model that encourages staff participation in the development of clinical standards.
  • Meet regularly with clinical and operational partners to assess team outcomes and maintain positive business relationships.
  • Develop and support effective team interactions through open and honest communication.
  • Provide overall strategic vision and direction for areas of responsibility.
  • Develop short and long-range goals for assigned teams.
  • Set priorities, assign responsibilities, and establish timelines to assure goal and outcome attainment.
  • Utilize leadership abilities to influence and guide direct reports.
  • Guide direct reports in mentorship of their direct reports.
  • Identify, process, and resolve conflict to align and unify teams.
  • Monitor work culture and execute improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee various personnel actions including hiring, performance appraisals, and disciplinary actions.
  • Provide leadership and direction to a team of respiratory care professionals.
  • Participate in operational and capital budget planning and resource allocation.
  • Identify budgetary variances and implement strategies for efficiency.
  • Maintain oversight of quality indicators and improvement initiatives.
  • Advocate and participate in departmental/organizational quality and safety improvement initiatives.
  • Serve as a professional role model and mentor to staff.
