About The Position

Adventist Health Ukiah Valley has been deeply connected to the community we serve since 1956. We are comprised of a 50-bed acute care medical center, level IV trauma center, level II intensive care nursery services, extensive physical rehabilitation program, outpatient surgery and diagnostic center and advanced wound care center. We are also conveniently located just two hours north of San Francisco and 45 minutes from the Pacific Coast. Job Summary: Ensures the effectiveness and efficiency of all departmental operations. Supervises departmental personnel and the development and maintenance of department budgets, while utilizing both professional and supervisory discretion as well as independent judgment. Oversees the development, review and revision of policies, procedures, staffing and quality assessment improvements. Ensures compliance with all regulatory bodies. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned personnel using both professional and supervisory discretion and independent judgment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech-Language Pathology: Required
  • Five years' technical experience: Preferred
  • One year's leadership experience: Preferred
  • State Occupational Therapy (OT) license or State Physical Therapy (PT) license or State Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) license: Required
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) certification: Required

Nice To Haves

  • Masters or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech-Language Pathology: Preferred
  • National Occupational Therapy (NOT) license: Preferred
  • American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA) License: Preferred
  • America Physical Therapy Association (APTA): Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manages department operations, ensuring delivery of quality clinical services.
  • Collaborates with medical directors to formulate operational policies.
  • Directs personnel activities, utilizing both professional and supervisory discretion as well as independent judgment.
  • Ensures sales program and material development, as necessary to market specific service areas and target certain populations.
  • Manages resources to achieve delivery of quality therapeutic services, diagnostic testing and positive employee relations.
  • Proposes patient care improvement plans to medical directors and hospital administrators.
  • Plans efficient use of personnel, space and equipment to ensure effective patient treatment.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements including licensure, certifications and registrations.
  • Coordinates with other clinicians when necessary to ensure staff have been evaluated both for clinical competency as well as through performance assessments by a clinician who possess the same scope of licensure as the associate being evaluated.
