About The Position

Jackson Memorial Perdue Medical Center is a long-term-care facility located on a beautiful 11-acre campus in South Dade. The medical center is a licensed, 163-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility. We provide care for a diverse cultural population of younger and older adults. The Manager Rehab Services is responsible for providing management and leadership to the rehab staff. Ensure quality improvement, clinical, financial and service outcome. This position will have a significant role in the administration or preparation of the departments or the organization's budget.

Requirements

  • Generally requires 5 to 7 years of related experience.
  • Supervisory experience is required.
  • Graduate of an accredited program in Occupational, Physical, or Speech Language Pathology.
  • Valid Florida license in respective discipline is required.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and any additional applicable life support certification for Healthcare Providers is required upon hire with at least 6 months validity and maintenance at JHS for the duration of employment.
  • Certification based on specialty is required, as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Provides management and leadership to the rehab therapy staff to continuously improve clinical, financial and service outcome.
  • Assists in development of performance, goals and objectives for the department consistent with those of the rehab facility and the organization's overall strategic plan.
  • Monitors and analyzes the results to identify trends and opportunities for improvements.
  • Assures the successful achievement of balanced initiatives by effectively (connecting the dots/closing the loop) and promoting staff participation and shared leadership involvement.
  • Utilizes efficiency data to support process improvement initiatives.
  • Manages the daily operations of the-designated department.
  • Participates in the developing, monitoring, revising department policy and procedures consistent with current standard of practice.
  • Assesses, manages and maintains a staffing plan that efficiently and effectively utilizes the appropriate resources ensuring competency, skill mix and adequate number of staff.
  • Facilitates and provides interdisciplinary care.
  • Collaborate daily with the interdisciplinary team to ensure program efficiency and best quality outcomes.
  • Ensures clinical and age competency of staff.
  • Collaborates with Director of therapy services on designated areas in personnel related activities, including recruitment, hiring, orientation, performance evaluation, staffing, productivity/budget variances and employee discipline.
  • Provides timely and meaningful input for performance assessments and co created action plans that promote personal and professional development along with the director and the chief of the therapy services.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
