About The Position

JOB SUMMARY Responsible for the management of the regulatory affairs function (for multiple jurisdictions for the Utility Group only) in accordance with applicable governing statues, regulations and orders of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and State Regulatory Commissions (collectively, Commissions), and in accordance with regulatory techniques and practices appropriate within the natural gas and electric industries, to maximize earnings and services to customers while operating within governmental regulations, company policy and legal requirements. Responsible for placing safety as #1 priority in day-to-day work routine for self and others. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Manager, Regulatory Affairs I: ($97,110 - $121,390) Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, economics, finance, engineering, or related field; and Seven years of accounting, finance/business, or engineering experience with increasing level of responsibilities in regulatory and prior leadership experience. Manager, Regulatory Affairs II: ($135,500 - $169,370) Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, economics, finance, engineering or related field; and Seven years’ progressively responsible regulatory experience in the energy industry; and Three years’ prior supervisory or leadership experience.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, economics, finance, engineering, or related field
• Seven years of accounting, finance/business, or engineering experience with increasing level of responsibilities in regulatory and prior leadership experience (Manager, Regulatory Affairs I)
• Seven years’ progressively responsible regulatory experience in the energy industry (Manager, Regulatory Affairs II)
• Three years’ prior supervisory or leadership experience (Manager, Regulatory Affairs II)
• Must take all measures necessary to protect networks, devices, programs and data from cyber-attack, damage or unauthorized access.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States, no sponsorships considered.
• Subject to pre-employment drug testing and background checks.
• Required to maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Requires travel - minimal (up to 10%)

Nice To Haves

• CPA or MBA with a degree in accounting, economics, finance, engineering, or related field.
• Prior analytical or accounting experience.
• Experience with energy economics, conservation and energy efficiency programs, or economic regulation of public utilities.

Responsibilities

• Participates in establishing strategies to plan, develop, organize, implement and evaluate the organization’s regulatory function and performance.
• Tracks and analyzes Commission Orders and Rule changes that affect company processes or regulatory strategies.
• Keeps abreast of applicable statutes and commission rules and regulations.
• Interpret and comply with the various Commissions' filing requirements.
• Analyzes any proposed changes, which affect area of responsibility and make recommendations as appropriate.
• Manages the preparation and filing of cost recovery mechanisms, including the fuel and purchased power cost adjustments and purchased gas cost adjustments, transmission, environmental, conservation, renewable and other tariff riders.
• Delivers written and verbal testimony in regulatory proceedings before commissions and other regulatory bodies.
• Performs other tasks and special projects as assigned.
