Organization: MPHS-Mills-Peninsula Medical Center Position Overview: Responsible for the oversight of all Patient Access Services for a single large complex acute care facility or multiple acute care facilities. Assist with standard work implementation at all facilities under their responsibility. Collaborates with staff and leadership to create standard processes across their facilities in accordance to Sutter expectations and ensure consistency of practices as well as continuous process improvement within the Patient Access arena. Manages and coordinates all patient access functions within their span of control facilities. Develop, maintain and complete monthly statistical reports for the Patient Access departments Reports on project initiatives and issues that need assistance as well as monthly report outs. Leads resource/contact for the Patient Access department in relationship to the ongoing EPIC changes and collaborate with their colleagues throughout the Sutter Health system to ensure standard processes are followed as they relate to Epic. Responsible for coordinating training compliance for Patient Access in conjunction with the Training Team. Job Description: EDUCATION: Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma. Bachelor's: Healthcare Financial Management or related field TYPICAL EXPERIENCE: 8 years of recent relevant experience. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Expert knowledge of general hospital management principles, practices, and procedures. Knowledge of medical terminology and coding. Knowledge of the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. Knowledge of work standards, productivity measurements, quality control, and workload distribution. Ability to effectively resolve conflicts among individuals and/or work groups. Verbal and written communication and listening skills. Interpersonal skills are necessary in dealing with both internal/external customers and in developing positive relationships across the organization. Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by honesty, integrity, and empathy, with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the values of Sutter Health. Must be able to set and organize your own and others' work priorities, manage your time effectively, and work concurrently on a variety of tasks/projects in a stressful environment with diverse personalities and work styles. Demonstrates leadership skills and ability to provide constructive and timely feedback to team members to support continuous improvement. Accuracy and attentiveness to detail. Must be able to work concurrently on a variety of tasks/projects in an environment that may be stressful with individuals having diverse personalities and work styles. Ability to serve as a coach/mentor to others on the Patient Access process, policies/procedures and leadership behaviors.
