Summary of Position Functions The Manager, Regional Operations-ESCO manages and coordinates the development process with the Engineering Manager for qualified projects during the RFP/RFQ process and oversees the onsite project operations for multiple small to large scale projects in the assigned region. In addition, provides direct leadership to a team of 8 to 10. This role provides direction at the project level to the project manager, site superintendent, engineer, and subcontractor towards a satisfied customer.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university in construction management, Engineering, or related field; or ten plus years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 15 + years’ Project Management experience, including budget management for $5 Million + contracts required.
  • 10 years’ minimum experience running large and multiple projects required.
  • 10 years’ leadership experience in the construction industry or related field required.
  • Knowledge of Veregy’s services and processes is required which can be obtained through intellect, technical inclination, and dedication to gain such knowledge.
  • Knowledge (Intermediate to advanced) of various operating systems, software products (e.g. MS Office, etc.), is required.
  • Computer software proficiency including ProCore, Microsoft Project, Viewpoint, RS Means, Trimble Estimating and/or other job-related hardware and software applications that may be required.
  • Knowledge of budget setup, management, and tracking.
  • Ability to maintain a proactive approach in problem solving and issue management.
  • Ability to run project-related meetings, including Progress, OAC, and pre- installation meetings.
  • Ability to lead successful projects/project management team.
  • Ability to coach, mentor and lead Project Managers and Site Superintendents.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently manage time / workload.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports, business, professional, and technical documents.
  • Ability to effectively respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers and staff.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to write presentations, articles, routine reports, proposals, and correspondence.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and percentages.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and tactfully negotiate priority with end users.
  • Ability to work under deadline pressure and extra hours if needed.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Travel to multiple jobsites throughout the week and depending on the project overnight stays may be required.

  • Solar industry experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in the pre-construction process and works with Engineering Managers to accomplish pre-construction activities.
  • Leads the project team to develop comprehensive project schedules by closely reviewing plan specifications or associated Request for Proposal.
  • Communicates regularly with all involved parties regarding project plans, status of the project, upcoming activities, and open issues.
  • Oversees all aspects of project related meetings, including subcontractor progress meetings, Owner/Architect/Contractor (OAC) meetings, and pre-installation meetings.
  • Oversees the budget process by updating required work to complete and current budget sections on a regular basis.
  • Initiates and leads team in close-out activities associated with the project.
  • Reviews and understands owner contract terms.
  • Develops Project Managers to become proficient with the pre-construction process.
  • Works directly with the Director of Operations to manage staffing and chargeability for assigned project(s).
  • Participates in the development of business plans for associated market sector(s).
  • Generates leads by contacting existing clients and design teams within target markets.
  • Coordinates with project development teams to ensure follow up and communication with current and past clients and design teams.
  • Assists in the development of strategy for transitioning leads to viable opportunities with assistance from the project development (project pursuit plan).
  • Leads the project teams to finish projects with minimal margin erosion through an efficient and effective close-out.
  • Guides project teams to critically analyze potential risks and leads them in establishing a plan to eliminate or minimize the risks.
  • Manages multiple projects.
  • Ensures projects are executed safely.
