About The Position

Position Summary Works with the Chief Quality Officer (CQO) to develop and maintain a robust quality, process improvement and patient safety program Responsibilities Oversees the daily operations of the department. Works with the leadership team to develop a culture and practice environment that embraces quality and patient safety, and is in compliance with the requirements of the various regulatory agencies. Works collaboratively with the CQO to develop and implement the hospital level strategic plan for quality and safety. Promotes a satisfied, healthy work environment for the workforce by establishing a climate of growth, challenge and development of all team members. Organizes and leads workgroups to achieve success with hospital quality metrics. Promotes the scientific method for problem solving by coaching individuals and teams in the use of PDSA’s (Plan Do Study Act). Participates in the planning and implementation of new technologies and procedures that support or enhance quality and patient safety activities. Works with the CQO and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in the development and management of the department budget. Establishes and maintains an open and positive working relationship with the medical staff and hospital leadership team. Embraces, communicates and promotes effective change. Manages various human resources functions including hiring, work assignments, coaching plans, and performance counseling. Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards. Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree required in a clinical discipline, industrial engineering, or related field.
  • Maintain current Florida licensure if degree is held in a clinical discipline.
  • Five (5) years of leadership experience in quality, process improvement, or patient safety required.
