The Manager, Quality FAA Program and AS9100 Compliance at Collins Aerospace is responsible for leading the processes that ensure adherence to FAA regulations and AS9100 compliance. This role involves collaboration with customers and program managers to assure compliance, develop quality control systems, and maintain relationships with customers while focusing on continuous improvement and quality targets.

  • Work with Customers and Program Managers to ensure compliance with FAA regulations and AS9100 requirements.
  • Collaborate with customers on continuous improvement, SCARs, RMAs, and scorecard-related activities.
  • Develop, modify, apply, and maintain quality control systems and protocols for manufacturing products.
  • Ensure compliance of projects and process control documentation with regulations and contracts.
  • Review and recommend Quality Assurance plans, guidelines, policies, and processes to achieve Quality targets.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with customers to understand their FAA and regulatory requirements.
  • Collect and analyze data to develop quality strategies and programs to reduce Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ).
  • Perform escape management procedures and lead teams to investigate root causes of customer escapes and non-conformances.
  • Provide technical guidance and support while maintaining strong relationships with Program Management, Engineering, and Operations teams.
  • Participate in internal, customer, third-party, and regulatory audits.
  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience, or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience.
  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status).
  • Strong customer communication skills and ability to communicate effectively within and outside the organization.
  • Proficiency with standard software programs including spreadsheets, word processing, data analysis, and production planning.
  • FAA 14 CFR Part 21 Production Approval Holder (PAH) program management experience in a PMA production facility.
  • Understanding of FAA regulatory requirements with management experience of an FAA-approved quality system.
  • Experience coordinating with the FAA Certificate Management Section for PAH certificate and PMA Supplement management activities.
  • Practical knowledge of FAA approved design data and Technical Data Packages under Supplemental Type Certificates.
  • Experience coordinating with FAA Design Approval Holders on new design conformities and design change activities.
  • Current or prior FAA designee experience as DAR-F or DMIR.
  • Certified AS9100 Lead or Internal Auditor experience.
  • RCCA / CAPA experience preferred.
  • Six Sigma/Lean deployment and process improvement experience.
