About The Position

The Site Quality Manager leads a team of Quality Engineers and Inspectors to ensure products and processes meet internal and customer quality requirements. This role is responsible for overseeing inspection activities including receiving, in-process, final, and shipping inspections, and ensures compliance with company procedures and aerospace industry standards. As leader of the Quality Engineering function, the role drives continuous improvement initiatives through the use of data analysis, root cause investigations and corrective actions, and ensures that quality processes are clearly defined and documented. This role partners closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Procurement teams to proactively address quality issues, enhance operational efficiency, and maintain a culture of quality excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in a technical field;
  • 8+ years or experience in quality or related field
  • 3+ years of experience of Managerial or any leadership experience
  • Aerospace industry experience or related experience in any other field or other regulatory
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing; read and interpret technical requirements of a quality system; strong leadership skills.
  • Familiarity with engineering processes and deliverables, with the ability to engage effectively with technical teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams, resolve conflicts, and drive change across operational and support functions.
  • Proficient in structured problem-solving and data analysis using tools such as 8D, Pareto, Fishbone, 5 Whys, and APQP.
  • General familiarity with enterprise systems such as ERP (Oracle-like), PLM (Agile-like), and digital inspection platforms (Net Inspect-like).
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to present to senior leadership and represent the Quality function in strategic discussions.
  • Strategic thinker with a customer-focused mindset, capable of managing multiple priorities while remaining calm and solution-oriented.
  • Able to lift or move 25 lbs., when needed; Computer Typing, 50% sitting, 25% walking, 25% standing.
  • May require some travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of Quality Engineers and Inspectors to ensure compliance with internal procedures and customer requirements.
  • Foster a culture of quality excellence, accountability, and continuous learning across the site.
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance management for team members, including potential oversight of an Inspector Supervisor.
  • Participate in site leadership activities such as Gemba Walks and escalation management, occasionally leading cross-functional initiatives.
  • Ensure effective use and integration of quality systems and tools, including ERP (Oracle-like), PLM (Agile-like), and inspection platforms (Net Inspect-like).
  • Monitor and report on key quality metrics, trends, and performance indicators to drive accountability and improvement.
  • Oversees inspection activities across receiving, in-process, final, and shipping stages to ensure product conformance.
  • Leads and supports structured problem-solving efforts using 8D and root cause analysis tools.
  • Collaborates closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, Planning, and Program Management to proactively address quality issues.
  • Ensures adherence to AS9100 and FAA regulatory requirements through robust quality systems and documentation practices.
  • Supports internal and external audits, including preparation, execution, and follow-up on corrective actions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using data analysis, Lean, Six Sigma, and APQP methodologies.
  • Represents the Quality function in cross-departmental meetings to align on business strategies, priorities, and quality standards.
