About The Position

The Quality Control Manager is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing quality control operations, technical support, and product performance across US operations. This position owns the investigation and resolution of complex product issues, drives root cause analysis, and implements corrective actions to improve overall product quality. Acting as a key escalation point, the role partners cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, and suppliers to ensure consistent quality standards and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate is a proactive “playing coach” who leads by example, balancing technical execution with team development and process ownership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field (MBA Preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience in quality control, technical support, or product engineering within the lighting industry
  • Demonstrated ability to lead hands-on troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolution of complex product issues
  • Experience supporting and guiding cross-functional teams (Engineering, Operations, suppliers) to drive quality outcomes
  • Ability to operate independently while managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical mindset with a track record of translating data into actionable improvements
  • Effective communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders across technical and non-technical teams
  • Experience with lighting systems, controls, and connected technologies (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, ZigBee, etc.)
  • Must be able to commute to the work location
  • Must be able to travel depending on business needs (Train, Plane, Car)
  • Must be able to walk, talk, sit, stand, bend, listen, type, read
  • Must be able to push, pull, lift up to 25 pounds on occasion
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee technical product support and quality control operations for end-users and trade customers, ensuring timely and effective resolution of issues
  • Own and drive complex troubleshooting, product failure analysis, and root cause investigations at the component level
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for critical and high-impact technical and quality issues
  • Establish and maintain standardized processes for product intake, analysis, and documentation to ensure consistency and accuracy
  • Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, and suppliers to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives based on product performance trends, failure data, and customer feedback
  • Oversee and manage RGA processes, ensuring timely resolution and clear communication with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with NEC, UL, and relevant regulatory and building code requirements
  • Support and guide technical aspects of advanced lighting systems, including wireless technologies (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, ZigBee, etc.)
  • Develop, mentor, and elevate team capabilities by providing guidance, training, and technical leadership
  • Monitor and report on key quality metrics, trends, and recurring issues to leadership, driving accountability and action
  • Contribute strategically to overall Quality Control initiatives, testing protocols, and process enhancements
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
