About The Position

The Purchasing Manager at the College of Southern Nevada is responsible for overseeing the procurement process, including the administration of various purchasing documents such as RFI's, RFQ's, RFP's, and contracts. This role involves collaborating with college departments to gather procurement requirements, ensuring compliance with policies and legal standards, and applying innovative problem-solving skills to maximize value while minimizing risk. The Purchasing Manager will also review purchase requisitions, negotiate terms, and manage multiple procurement projects simultaneously.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field from an accredited college/university or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 4 years of professional experience in procurement or related field.
  • Knowledge of requirements for PO issuance including insurance, quotes, and licensing.
  • Experience in public procurement concepts and NSHE insurance requirements.
  • Ability to analyze problem situations and present recommendations clearly.
  • Proficiency in Word and Excel, with the ability to create spreadsheets and reports.
  • Excellent interpersonal and group communication skills.

  • C.P.M, C.P.S.M., C.P.P.O., etc. Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Administer procurements including RFI's, RFQ's, RFP's, IFB's, Sole Sources, Purchase Orders, and Contracts.
  • Meet with college departments to gather requirements and process requests in accordance with NSHE policy and public procurement best practices.
  • Prepare, write, and review contracts to ensure compliance with policy and legal standards.
  • Assess and reduce contract risk while ensuring consistency with CSN policy and goals.
  • Review purchase requisitions for procurement requirements and issue Purchase Orders.
  • Negotiate pricing and terms, ensuring all necessary documentation is attached.
  • Apply innovative problem-solving skills to maximize value and minimize risk.
