Job Summary This position is part of the California Region PMO (Project Management Office), a department within the Finance & Business Ops organization. The role is accountable for delivering mid-to-large, cross-functional projects of significant complexity and high visibility. The manager leads multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously, developing and managing detailed schedules, scope, risks/issues, and costs. The manager proactively drives project alignment, decisions, and clear communication with regional, HQ, and other key stakeholders across levels. May also provide lighter regional support for select HQ-led efforts. Project examples include growth and enablement initiatives such as network upgrades and builds; subscriber and retail expansion; product enhancements and deployments; shared services initiatives (e.g., Facilities, IT, and Fleet); and operational improvement initiatives. This role provides matrix project leadership across cross-functional teams but does not have direct reports. Office Requirement: The position is subject to the current in-office policy (currently four days per week, with an option to work from home one day per week as business needs permit) as governed by applicable organizational policy.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of relevant professional experience, including a minimum of 3 years of project management experience using formal schedules and PM methodologies.
  • 2+ years of experience leading matrixed, cross-functional teams to deliver projects of increasing complexity

  • Demonstrated expertise in project planning and delivery across a diversity of cross-functional project types , including c ritical p ath a nalysis, using industry-standard tools (e.g., Smartsheet , MS Project , or similar platforms)
  • Significant e xperience presenting project milestones, resource needs, and risk mitigations to senior management or departmental leadership.
  • C ertification or 2+ years of experience in p rocess i mprovement d elivery (e.g., Lean Six Sigma, or similar )

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional project teams by establishing project strategy and implementation plans, defining roles/responsibilities, and aligning required resources to deliver milestones and outcomes
  • Connect teams to the business context and develop solutions in ambiguous situations.
  • Plan and execute multiple concurrent projects/initiatives, developing and managing detailed project plans and schedules; tracking progress, dependencies, delays, and capacity impacts; and adjusting to keep delivery on track.
  • Own project governance and controls (schedule, scope, cost, risks/issues, and change control); drive key decisions, maintain alignment with business goals and shared business metrics, and lead teams through change to deliver project outcomes.
  • Apply PMO methodology and requirements, maintaining accurate project records ( e.g., timely meeting agendas/minutes), reporting, and tools to enable on-time, on-scope delivery.
  • Drive stakeholder alignment and communication to deliver superior outcomes.
  • Provide timely status and executive-ready updates (including presentations).
  • Run effective forums; facilitate cross-functional collaboration; drive cross-org escalations; negotiate to optimize results; and rapidly adjust plans as priorities and constraints evolve.
  • Lead or participate in special projects and continuous improvement initiatives within the PMO, Finance & Business Operations, and across the broader organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and meet attendance/availability expectations (including variable schedule, early /late meetings, nights/weekends as needed).
