CBS Sports is seeking a highly organized, strategic, and collaborative Manager of Programming to handle scheduling, partner relationships, and content strategy for our College Basketball and Golf properties! This role plays a critical part in maintaining and growing CBS Sports’ premier sports programming by managing partnerships with key leagues and organizations including collegiate conferences, the NCAA, and the PGA TOUR. The ideal candidate will bring strong relationship management and interpersonal skills, a deep understanding of sports media, and the ability to assess opportunities for new content acquisitions. The Manager will collaborate cross-functionally to ensure the successful planning and execution of programming across CBS Sports and Paramount platforms.

  • Develop and manage programming schedules for CBS Sports' college basketball and golf properties, ensuring alignment with league calendars, distribution obligations and priorities and increasing viewership.
  • Work closely with key partners including the NCAA, collegiate conferences, PGA TOUR, and other rightsholders. Maintain positive relationships and uphold all terms of existing agreements.
  • Work cross-functionally with production, operations, marketing, digital, legal, research, and distribution teams to ensure cohesive planning and execution across platforms.
  • Evaluate new programming opportunities and assist in the assessment and acquisition of new content aligned with CBS Sports' strategic goals. Collaborate with the Legal department to handle the contract process for renewing and securing rights to select events and conferences.
  • Collaborate with partners to update and finalize schedules as needed, ensuring timely communication of changes both internally and externally.
  • Distribute crucial programming information clearly and efficiently across all pertinent partners, including CBS Sports leadership and external partners.
  • Assist senior leadership in preparing and delivering programming strategy presentations, including market analysis, ratings performance, and competitive landscape assessments.
  • Monitor ratings and performance data to inform programming decisions and improve overall strategy. Provide actionable insights to optimize scheduling and content mix.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; degree in sports management, communications, or a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in sports media, programming, scheduling, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of the sports ecosystem with a deep understanding of college sports and golf landscapes.
  • Exemplary communication and relationship management skills. Ability to run meetings, present and engage with clients.
  • Shown ability to handle multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with internal departments.
  • Strong analytical skills and familiarity with performance metrics (e.g., Nielsen ratings).
  • Familiarity with television and/or digital media operations is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with scheduling software (e.g. Broadway, Airtable) is a plus.
