About The Position

The Manager, Production Planning A role is responsible for overseeing the production planning process within the plant located in Cheraw, SC. This position involves developing Master Schedule requirements based on demand forecasts, plant capacity, and historical data. The manager will interact with production and sales personnel to keep them updated on progress and new developments, manage volume and manufacturing location changes to meet customer requirements, and monitor inventories of raw materials, work in process, and finished goods to minimize costs and achieve inventory goals. Additionally, the role includes overseeing the development and maintenance of tools that enhance production planning capabilities, auditing the plant for compliance with department standards, and ensuring that inside sales and plants utilize the system through on-site auditing and clear tracking metrics. The manager will also maintain accurate needs attention inventory and implement measures for improvement while driving continuous improvement through training and strategic planning.

Requirements

  • BS degree in business, logistics, operations research, or related area.
  • 5+ years of experience in a production planning/logistics/materials handling role.
  • Certificates in APICS, CPSM, Six Sigma, and Lean Manufacturing are highly desired.
  • Knowledge of AS400 operating systems is a plus.
  • Proven proficiency in Microsoft Office with specific emphasis on Excel, Access, and Word.
  • Ability to develop processes, train end users, and implement projects to completion.
  • Capable of managing changing business needs and requirements.
  • Proven record of applied critical thinking in a variety of situations, and taking calculated initiative to drive improvements.
  • Effective oral and written communications.

Nice To Haves
