About The Position

The expectation of this position is to lead and direct a team to achieve pedigree farm objectives. Essential functions of this position include: Achieve feed conversion, NIR, pulse oximeter and CT targets. Maintain genetic security and purity Foster and maintain a culture of Biosecurity and Animal Welfare Promote and maintain a strong culture of safety Develop qualified and effective team members Communicate and collaborate on pedigree-related objectives Produce and analyze selection reports

Requirements

  • College degree or equivalent experience required, with two (2) or more years of progressive experience in the relevant field of expertise.
  • Supervise a team composed primarily of non-exempt Team Members (TMs)
  • Mentor exempt Team Members
  • Provide training and development for non-exempt Team Members
  • Monitor work quality and coach Team Members on performance
  • Contribute to Team Member pay decisions and changes
  • Maintain accountability for the quality of results produced by the team
  • Proficiency in data collection and management using Microsoft Office applications is required.
  • Will supervise a team of hourly positions, including leads.
  • Minimal domestic travel may be required.
  • This position is located in a biosecure environment, which requires showering before entering the facility and may require multiple showers during the workday.
  • Appropriate clothing and footwear are provided by the Company.
  • No jewelry may be worn on the jobsite except for medical ID jewelry.
  • Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid contact with any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds).
  • The Company Animal Welfare Policy must be followed at all times.
  • Must comply with all Cobb Farm and Hatchery Biosecurity Standards.
  • Must use safe lifting techniques.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to touch, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk; or hear.
  • The Team Member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • When visiting facilities, the Team Member is expected to follow required safety procedures and wear the required personal protective equipment.
