About The Position

This position is responsible for leading and directing a team to achieve pedigree farm objectives. Essential functions include achieving selection targets; maintaining genetic security and purity; fostering a strong culture of biosecurity, animal welfare, and safety; developing and maintaining a qualified and effective team; communicating and collaborating on pedigree-related objectives; and producing accurate selection reports.

Requirements

  • A college degree or equivalent experience is required, along with two (2) or more years of progressive experience in the relevant field.
  • This role is responsible for supervising a team primarily composed of non-exempt team members. Responsibilities include mentoring exempt team members, providing training to non-exempt team members, monitoring work quality, coaching team members on performance, and contributing to team member pay decisions and changes. The role is accountable for the quality and results produced by the team.
  • Proficiency in data collection and data management using Microsoft Office applications is required.
  • This position supervises a team of hourly team members, including leads.
  • Minimal domestic travel is required.
  • The jobsite is a biosecure environment and requires showering before entering the facility, with the potential for multiple showers during the workday. Appropriate clothing and footwear are provided by the Company. Jewelry is not permitted on the jobsite, except for medical identification jewelry. Team members must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid contact with all avian species (including chickens, ducks, and birds). The Company’s Animal Welfare Policy must be followed at all times, and all Cobb Farm Hatchery Biosecurity Standards must be adhered to.
  • The team member must use safe lifting techniques.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to touch, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; and communicate verbally or audibly.
  • The team member may occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • When visiting facilities, team members are expected to follow all required safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
