The Manager - Private Label Customer Strategies and Trade role will be responsible for translating the PL annual plan into customer-specific plans within a specific set of customers. Gaining alignment from our cross-functional partners, including marketing, sales, finance, and supply chain on these plans, is critical for this role. This role will also be the primary creator of customer presentations needed to reflect corporate priorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Marketing required.
  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in finance, marketing, supply chain, trade marketing, or sales within consumer package goods industry preferred.
  • Experience in Private Label a plus.
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Ability to influence without direct authority and interpret needs of sales to provide creative solutions for customers.
  • Critical/analytical/strategic thinking skills and the ability to organize own work and set priorities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with aggressive timelines.
  • Ability to budget for projects, control costs, and evaluate results.

Responsibilities

  • Sets customer-specific strategy in support of customer and PL Business Strategies for specific set of customers.
  • Work with PL Marketing to align around key plan elements, goals, and objectives.
  • Works with PL Sales team to translate these into an annual plan and achieve profit and sales objectives.
  • Monitors performance of agreed upon action plans and identifies opportunities to close any gaps.
  • Demonstrates thought leadership in the annual master category story.
  • Works with branded trade and category management to ensure alignment and one voice to the customer.
  • Supports Sr. Manager - Customer Strategies and Trade with annual customer level budget process for the annual operating plan and monitors progress against key budget components.
  • Understands cost to serve for each customer and aligns with Finance to include these costs in pricing development and profit analyses.
  • Collaborates with Category Management team on developing the 4P's Review process focusing on promotional analysis, distribution voids, shelf placement, and pricing optimization.
  • Acts as Subject Matter Expert for Sales on all PL commercialization projects.
  • Participates in the weekly Commercialization meetings.
  • Brings customer issues and requests to the PL business team and vets customer requests with cross-functional teams.
  • Supports monthly forecasting process.
  • Supports efforts for issuing the PL Sales Release two times per year.
  • Supports Quarterly Business Review discussion (QBR) for key PL customers.
  • Participates in weekly sales team calls, customer planning sessions, account calls, and sales audits.
