About The Position

Ulta Beauty is seeking a Manager, PR & Corporate Reputation to help shape, elevate and protect the company’s corporate reputation. This role will help plan and execute corporate announcements, respond to media inquiries and support day-to-day reputation stewardship through message development, monitoring and issues escalation. They will draft press materials, talking points and briefing documents for senior leaders; prepare responses and holding statements for emerging topics; and partner across the business to ensure alignment on key narratives for initiatives such as enterprise strategy, technology/AI, marketing and brand purpose, DEI, and operational milestones. The role will also advance Ulta Beauty’s thought leadership platform by managing speaking opportunity pipelines, preparing executives for events and interviews, and leading award submissions that strengthen visibility and credibility. The ideal candidate brings strong writing skills, sound judgement, and experience in corporate communications or PR, with the ability to balance proactive storytelling alongside responsive issues support. This individual thrives in collaboration, moves fluidly between strategy and execution, and brings a calm, organized approach to fast-moving priorities.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in public relations, corporate communications, media relations, reputation management, or agency work supporting corporate clients.
  • Strong writer with proven ability to craft messaging, talking points, briefing materials and media responses.
  • Experience supporting corporate announcements, press engagement and/or executive visibility programs.
  • Experience preparing executives for speaking engagements, events, or interviews.
  • Strong crisis intuition and ability to manage sensitive issues discreetly and confidently.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally, build relationships and influence stakeholders at multiple levels.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive and comfortable navigating fast-paced environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with social listening tools and measurement frameworks is a plus – not required as a primary skill.
  • Passion for beauty with deep knowledge of the industry landscape, current trends/innovations and emerging technologies is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support planning and execution of corporate announcements, business initiatives, and enterprise milestones – ensuring clear, consistent, and audience-appropriate communication.
  • Manage incoming media inquiries, helping to evaluate relevance, develop response strategies and coordinate with internal partners for alignment.
  • Draft and refine messaging, holding statements, FAQs, press materials, executive talking points, and reactive responses.
  • Support tracking and escalation of emerging issues related to Ulta Beauty, the beauty industry, retail landscape and cultural moments.
  • Compile issues monitoring reports and article flags for executive leadership; summarize key takeaways and trends, and provide recommended actions.
  • Contribute to scenario playbook development, risk preparedness and cross-functional alignment for issues management and crisis response.
  • Assist in evaluating risk and readiness for new initiatives, launches, and potential areas of reputational sensitivity.
  • Support the development of Ulta Beauty’s broader executive visibility and thought leadership strategy.
  • Manage planning and execution of speaking opportunities – evaluating opportunities, preparing briefing materials, drafting talking points, and coordinating logistics.
  • Prepare executives for external engagements through prep calls, message alignment, briefing books, Q&A and narrative framing.
  • Manage award submission process – identifying opportunities, drafting submissions, and managing timelines and stakeholder collaboration.
  • Ensure consistency of voice, narrative and strategic messaging across spokespeople, events, interviews, and external platforms.
  • Partner with social listening and analytics teams to translate monitoring and sentiment data into actionable guidance for PR and corporate comms.
  • Monitor reputational trends, competitor activity, influencer industry dynamics and relevant stakeholder conversations.
  • Contribute insights to quarterly reputation measurement reporting and benchmarking.
  • Assist in developing post-issue reporting, learnings and continuous preparedness improvements.
