About The Position

The Manager, Platform Engineering is responsible for leading the Platform Engineering team, which focuses on systems management and production support, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE). This role ensures that the platform operates smoothly, reliably, and efficiently, minimizing downtime and optimizing performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, relative field or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Minimum seven (7) years of experience in systems engineering, production support, or a related field.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in a leadership or managerial role required.
  • Strong experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) required.
  • Deep understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) required.
  • Ability to develop and execute long-term plans aligned with business goals.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Platform Engineering team to ensure the stability and performance of the platform.
  • Oversee incident management processes, ensuring rapid resolution of issues and root cause analysis.
  • Collaborate with other teams to design and implement monitoring and alerting solutions.
  • Mentor and develop the team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, set goals, and provide feedback to team members.
  • Recruit, onboard, and train new team members.
  • Manage and optimize the infrastructure, including servers, databases, and networking.
  • Ensure high availability and scalability of systems through effective configuration and management.
  • Drive the adoption of SRE best practices to enhance system reliability and performance.
  • Develop and maintain automation tools for continuous integration, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Define and track SLOs (Service Level Objectives) and SLAs (Service Level Agreements) to ensure service quality.
  • Work closely with product, engineering, and operations teams to align platform engineering efforts with business goals.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates on system health, performance, and improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and decision-making for platform engineering and infrastructure.
