About The Position

This position is responsible for all functional areas of a pork processing plant, including the efficient operation of three production shifts, maintenance, personnel, safety, shipping, receiving, sanitation, scheduling, quality, and process improvement. Additional responsibilities include motivating managers to provide guidance and programs to enhance employee skill levels; resolving issues related to the quality of incoming and outgoing goods; reviewing cost and performance data to identify areas for improvement; facilitating Talent Mapping and Succession Planning Programs; and supporting the Retention Program. This role encompasses food safety, food quality, and legality oversight. Other duties include initiating discussion and implementation of improvements across all phases of production, assisting in identifying, evaluating and correcting problems, and performing other responsibilities as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, demonstrating broad knowledge in a general professional or technical field normally acquired through four years of college
  • Progressive 8 or more years of experience required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
  • Responsible for managing several groups of personnel who perform diverse tasks and activities across more than one department
  • General knowledge of computer programs used in production plant operations, including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Availability to travel 6 to 11 trips per year
