About The Position

As Manager of Plant Engineering Services, you will lead and coordinate all aspects of plant operations and facility maintenance to ensure the hospital's physical structures, HVAC, mechanical systems, utilities, and grounds remain safe, efficient, and fully operational. You'll oversee staff, contractors, and resources to support a reliable, compliant, and high-performing environment across all facilities. Plan, organize, and lead daily plant engineering and maintenance operations Manage departmental budgets, maintenance contracts, and vendor relationships Oversee and mentor team members across all shifts, promoting safety, quality, and efficiency Coordinate work with outside vendors and contractors, ensuring compliance and performance Maintain adherence to all local, state, and federal regulations, including The Joint Commission, DNV, and CMS requirements Collaborate with hospital and executive leadership to align operations with organizational goals Communicate effectively with cross-departmental management to keep teams informed of planned and unexpected infrastructure actives Serve as the on-call leader for any hospital emergency

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of five (5) years in healthcare engineering and operations, required
  • Experience supervising both a facility and a team, required
  • Valid NC Driver's License - position supports multiple facilities
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems
  • Familiarity with medical gas, fire alarm, and fire protection systems
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, codes, and compliance regulations
  • Proven organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with all levels of staff and leadership

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Experience supervising both a facility and a team, required
  • Leadership or lead technician experience, preferred
  • Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM), preferred
