About The Position

Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in calculating, posting and verifying duties to obtain and record financial data for use in maintaining accounting and statistical records as well as applying principles of cost information not available in general accounting system by performing the following duties:

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance, and five to seven years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journal, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of manager, customers and employees
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts, such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as basic algebra and geometry
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

Responsibilities

  • Collects and analyzes data to determine cost of business activities such as raw material purchases, material usage variances, labor and variable overhead
  • Completes composite reports from a variety of individual reports which are needed by management such as weekly cash flow forecasts, month capital forecasts, and monthly financial reporting
  • Assists in the preparation of annual budgets for each cost center of the plant
  • Prepares monthly work-in-process (WIP) inventory, coordinates and directs routine cycle counts of WIP.
  • Issues written and oral instructions
  • Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness and conformance to policies and procedures
  • Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of employees
  • Maintains harmony among workers and resolves complaints
