About The Position

The Manager, Planning & Financial Modeling will play a crucial role in the NuScale finance team, reporting to the Senior Director of FP&A. This position is responsible for providing financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making and long-term planning initiatives, including business plan preparation, project evaluation, and financing activities. The role involves interfacing with internal and external stakeholders, developing complex financial models, and contributing to the company's financing strategy and execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, or Accounting required; MBA with emphasis in Finance preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience as a planning modeling financial analyst, preferably in the energy or utility field.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel (VBA preferred), Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent quantitative skills and ability to perform detailed Excel-based cash flow financial modeling.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional designation such as CFA charter holder or CAIA preferred.
  • Experience in investment banking or similar roles.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain complex financial models to support forecasting, budgeting, and long-term planning activities.
  • Coordinate the preparation of the Long-Term Business Plan.
  • Prepare assumptions and perform financial analysis to evaluate project economics and structural sensitivities.
  • Assist in formulating long-term business objectives, goals, and action plans.
  • Conduct sensitivity analysis and scenario planning to assess economic and financial impacts.
  • Prepare comprehensive financial reports, presentations, and dashboards for senior management and stakeholders.
  • Evaluate capital expenditures planning activities and financing strategies.
  • Analyze financial performance and key business metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Coordinate and monitor the business risk management process.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant data for financial analysis and reporting.
  • Support communications with internal stakeholders and external capital providers.
  • Support M&A activities by conducting financial due diligence and valuation analysis.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes that may impact financial performance.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior finance team members.
  • Develop and implement finance planning processes as necessary.

Benefits

  • Target pay range of $130,927 - $158,016 annually, with a full pay range of $117,383 - $183,599.
