Old Dominion Freight Line is currently recruiting for a Service Center Manager for Pickup and Delivery Drivers or City Drivers. Our Manager will successfully manage the daily P&D operations and staff at the service center.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 5 years working experience as a driver supervisor or in operations
  • Working knowledge of AS400, Microsoft Office, DYMS and BLU systems
  • Knowledge of general DOT regulations
  • Good verbal and written communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and evaluate the safety of each employee on a daily basis
  • Monitor the assignment of pickups and deliveries to drivers to ensure proper utilization of employees, equipment, loading and unloading while meeting OD and customer expectations
  • Manage staffing to meet the volume of work including hiring and scheduling
  • Provide direct leadership to P&D supervisory staff
  • Manage daily operations and ensure maximum P&D efficiency
  • Focus on load plans from origin service centers monitoring cause and effect
  • Work continually to develop and improve P&D staff
  • Communicate goals, issues, and company news to P&D staff
  • Achieve and maintain goals set by the Company and Service Center Manager
  • Monitor results of each P&D supervisor and provide feedback and coaching as needed
  • Always ensure a safe work environment
  • Track and verify service center maintenance is completed
