The Manager of Physical Security Technology at Broward College is responsible for overseeing the functionality and compatibility of the college's physical security systems and ID card access. This role ensures the safety of students, faculty, staff, and assets by managing card access, conducting system maintenance, and integrating new technologies. The position requires collaboration with various departments and vendors to enhance security measures and respond to emergencies as needed.

  • Conduct annual reviews and updates to the college physical security master plan.
  • Serve as a liaison between the Department of Safety, Security and Emergency Preparedness and other constituencies to troubleshoot card access and CCTV system problems.
  • Manage ID card processes including creation, access control, and system operations.
  • Research security technologies and formulate recommendations for new equipment and applications.
  • Provide customer service for ID operations, including configurations and reviewing transaction logs.
  • Oversee contracted service vendors for access control software and hardware.
  • Prepare and carry out scope and work for on-campus projects, including bidding and monitoring.
  • Maintain and develop budget for physical security infrastructure and ID card systems.
  • Develop long-range plans for card access and surveillance systems.
  • Create and manage security systems and standardize policies and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain inventory of all security system components.
  • Bachelor's Degree required; equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.
  • Six years of relevant experience, including four years in a physical security related field.
  • Experience with data management software and physical security/camera surveillance software.
  • Ability to meet college automobile use requirements.
  • Availability to respond to emergencies after traditional work hours.
  • Experience as a project manager preferred.
  • Experience with CCURE software system preferred.
  • Experience with low voltage electrical issues preferred.
  • ASIS PSP (Physical Security Professional) Certification preferred.
