Physical Security Department The North America Physical Security Department is focused on delivering a best-in-class security program aligned with Vantage’s vision of becoming the leading industry physical security data center provider. Our mission is to safeguard our data center environments through comprehensive, scalable, and standardized physical security processes that deter threats, promote rapid incident response, ensure regulatory compliance, and support Vantage’s rapid growth. The department leads all physical security efforts across North America, ensuring that every Vantage data center operates within a consistent, scalable, and standardized security framework. Our teams design and implement physical security programs, systems, and processes that deter threats, strengthen site resiliency, and enable rapid response to incidents. We partner closely with Operations, Engineering, Construction, IT, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure that physical security is embedded into every phase of the asset lifecycle and supports Vantage’s rapid expansion. Role Overview The Manager, Security Solutions & Automation is responsible for driving the evaluation, adoption, standardization, and lifecycle governance of physical security technologies across the North America portfolio. This role ensures that all new devices, platforms, integrations, and security solutions are thoroughly tested, properly documented, and deployed consistently across all sites. Acting as the central orchestrator for technology pilots, system programming, solution validation, and documentation standards, this role partners closely with field technicians, vendors, IT, Cybersecurity, Networking, Physical Security Operations, and other cross-functional teams. The Manager ensures that every technology aligns with enterprise requirements for reliability, security, performance, and scalability.

Requirements

  • 5–7+ years in physical security technology, systems engineering, or similar fields.
  • Strong understanding of access control, video management, sensors, analytics, automation, and integrations.
  • Experience deploying, programming, or supporting enterprise security systems.
  • Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and lead pilots.
  • Strong documentation skills and familiarity with cybersecurity and IT requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in data centers or critical infrastructure environments.
  • Familiarity with security design standards and architectures.
  • Experience managing configuration standards.
  • Vendor and pilot leadership experience.

Responsibilities

  • Technology Evaluation, Pilots & Solution Validation Lead the end-to-end evaluation of new physical security technologies, sensors, platforms, and automation solutions.
  • Plan, execute, and manage structured pilots, beta programs, and proof-of-concept deployments.
  • Coordinate pilot logistics including technician scheduling, vendor participation, IT/Cyber reviews, network provisioning, and operational feedback loops.
  • Analyze performance data, compile test results, and produce recommendations for adoption or rejection.
  • Ensure solutions meet enterprise standards for cybersecurity, networking, architecture, scalability, and operational integration.
  • Standards, Documentation & Programming Governance Create, maintain, and own enterprise physical security technology standards including programming guides, configuration baselines, wiring diagrams, installation standards, and deployment playbooks.
  • Document devices, integrations, and processes with step-by-step instructions.
  • Ensure consistent documentation for pilots, upgrades, programming changes, and deployments.
  • Develop and enforce change-control guidelines for programming modifications and integrations.
  • Cross-Functional & Vendor Coordination Act as point of contact for new technology testing with technicians, vendors, Cybersecurity, IT, Networking, Physical Security Operations, and Data Center Operations.
  • Ensure stakeholders understand requirements, timelines, objectives, and integration needs.
  • Drive vendor engagement, firmware evaluations, engineering escalations, and roadmap reviews.
  • Partner with Cyber and IT to ensure compliance with security hardening and network standards.
  • Automation, Efficiency & System Optimization Identify opportunities to automate manual workflows, system processes, reporting, or integrations.
  • Develop repeatable processes that streamline deployments and reduce technician effort.
  • Support optimization and standardization of programming across sites.
