About The Position

The Pharmacy Retail Operations Manager is a licensed pharmacist responsible for the overall administration, compliance, financial stewardship, and strategic development of Mosaic Life Care's Outpatient entity-owned retail pharmacy operations. Reporting directly to the Director of Pharmacy this position demonstrates strategic leadership with proven ability to coach and mentor a high-performing team of employees, including multiple Pharmacists in Charge and pharmacy technicians and partners with senior leadership across Mosaic Life Care. The manager serves as the subject matter expert (SME) for all retail operations, ensuring strict compliance, proactive audit readiness, and program optimization aligned with Mosaic's mission, vision and values. The manager will be expected to work closely with team leaders across the organization and in-depth with the 340B and fiscal teams. The manager exemplifies strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail along with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities across a complex health system to deliver cost savings and program optimization. This position is employed by Mosaic Life Care.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. - Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) is required.
  • Bachelor's Degree - Bachelor of Pharmacy with retail experience is required.
  • PharmD - Doctor Of Pharmacy Licensure: License in good standing with the Missouri State Board of Pharmacy upon hire is required.
  • PharmD - Doctor Of Pharmacy Licensure: License in good standing with the Kansas State Board of Pharmacy or must have ability to obtain within 1st year of employment upon hire is required.
  • 3 Years of experience in a leadership role with direct staff management is required.
  • 3 Years of experience managing multiple pharmacies in a hospital or health system is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Specialty Pharmacy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure full compliance with all HRSA, state, federal, and internal 340B Program requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and annually review system-wide retail policies and procedures; update promptly when regulations or interpretations change.
  • Help lead Mosaic’s outpatient retail vision and provide regular program updates to executive leadership.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for Mosaic regarding RX billing inquiries and/or disputes.
  • Serve as the primary contact for Missouri Board of Pharmacy, Missouri BNDD, DEA, manufacturers, auditors, and third-party administrators (TPAs), PBM’s, etc. regarding retail operations.
  • Registers and recertifies payor and PBM contracts and PSAO agreements for owned retail pharmacies.
  • Manage Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) audit findings or compliance gaps.
  • Oversee daily operations of the owned retail pharmacies, including wholesaler integration and pricing, 340B accumulations, all retail inventory and central pharmacy hubs or central fill/mail order facilities.
  • Build strong internal partnerships with finance, compliance, IT, legal, and clinical teams.
  • Maintain effective external relationships with wholesalers, TPAs, regulatory agencies, and pharmacy schools.
  • Other duties as assigned.
