This position involves managing and providing operational and nursing leadership to ensure the quality of nursing care across Preoperative, Intraoperative, and Postoperative areas. The role includes planning and organizing operations and resources for effective and efficient patient care delivery, adhering to applicable laws, standards, and regulations. The manager will also provide direct patient care, act as a staff resource, and ensure patient care needs are met. Responsibilities extend to demonstrating critical thinking, coordinating unit activities, staffing plans, and resolving inter/intra-departmental issues in collaboration with other disciplines, surgeons, and anesthesiologists. The manager will assess care quality, provide input for staff mentoring/evaluation, staffing, hiring, performance management, and daily unit operations. Establishing protocols and practices, ensuring compliance with department, affiliate, operating unit, system standards, policies, procedures, TJC standards, and relevant laws is also key. The role requires providing guidance and direct intervention in complex situations.
