Job Summary: Responsible for the day-to-day management and supervision of the Patient Service Coordinators and schedulers. Directs and coordinates operational interactions amongst all coordinators, schedulers and between other hospital departments. Performs scheduling duties as necessary. Participates in and supervises future system development projects. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned personnel using both professional and supervisory discretion and independent judgment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Required

Responsibilities

  • Manages referral volumes, department volumes and growth, adheres to budget and ensures patient account validation for account accuracy.
  • Works with physician liaisons for growth volumes.
  • Supports registration team with insurance eligibility, medical necessity and patient account collections.
  • Ensures timely scheduling, referral turnaround times, call wait times and registration times.
  • Handles patient, physician and interdepartmental complaints.
  • Works on process improvement initiatives where needed.
  • Develops and maintains employee schedules, holds department meetings/huddles and completes employee rounding.
  • Promotes and maintains employee engagement, completes employee evaluations and ensures employees adhere to time and attendance policies.
  • Oversees employee onboarding, training, departmental orientation and employee coaching.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
