About The Position

The Manager of Patient Access is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day registration operations to ensure an optimal patient experience at Prisma Health. This role involves managing a 24/7 operation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and collaborating with various departments to enhance patient access processes. The manager will also be involved in budgeting, staff recruitment, and performance management, all while maintaining a focus on quality and compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in banking/finance, billing/collections, healthcare admissions, or insurance, including 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, a high school diploma plus 7 years of relevant experience or an Associate's degree with 6 years of relevant experience may be accepted.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Epic systems for patient access management.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and organize day-to-day registration operations to support clinical operations and ensure optimal patient experience.
  • Ensure efficient registration processes are in place, including collecting demographic and financial information.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory documents and forms required by CMS, DHEC, and The Joint Commission.
  • Collaborate with clinical departments and Patient Financial Services to lead change initiatives and improve Patient Access processes.
  • Recruit and select qualified candidates, develop work schedules, and educate team members on policies and procedures.
  • Maintain knowledge of third-party payment requirements and provide education to team members on relevant changes.
  • Lead the development of departmental goals and objectives, providing feedback on progress and performance.
  • Utilize Prisma Health's corrective action policy for team members with performance issues, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary process improvement initiatives to enhance patient satisfaction scores.
  • Review and resolve Patient Access assigned Epic Work Queues.
