About The Position

Based in one of our offices, you’ll step into a pivotal leadership role, driving the daily operations of our underwriting unit with precision and agility. Requirements

• Bring over five years of P&C Commercial underwriting experience, preferably with exposure to leading teams.
• Demonstrate advanced skills in underwriting systems and data feeds.
• Exhibit strong business acumen , analytical decision-making, and resilience, thriving in fast-paced environments and adapting to evolving challenges.
• Lead with emotional intelligence , fostering collaboration, providing meaningful coaching, and building strong relationships across teams and partners.
• Communicate confidently with executive leadership and peers, leveraging polished presentation skills and proficiency in MS Office Suite and key business software.

• A college degree and/or insurance industry designation(s) will help move you to the top of the list.

Responsibilities

• Expertly oversee underwriting operations , ensuring timely, accurate processing of new business and renewal submissions while maintaining compliance with all regulations.
• Coach and support underwriters , provide co-signs for guideline adherence, facilitate ongoing training and development , adjust workloads for optimal flow, and set clear performance goals for team members.
• Establish and refine processes to maximize operational efficiency and effectiveness.
• Serve as key liaison for claims reviews, DOI complaints, reinsurer communications, and vendor management related to underwriting.
• Lead underwriting audits , enforce best practices, and actively participate in strategic projects and committee meetings.
