About The Position

The Manager of Outpatient Services is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the daily operations of clinical treatment programs for patients receiving psychiatric and substance use services in the outpatient setting. Working under the direction of the Director of Clinical Services, the Manager ensures that high-quality, integrated clinical care is delivered in accordance with regulatory standards and organizational policies. The Manager provides supervision and guidance to clinical staff conducting individual and group counseling, supports the implementation of therapeutic treatment modalities, and ensures effective discharge planning for optimal patient transitions. This role also oversees clinical documentation practices to maintain accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with all applicable standards and requirements.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree from an accredited school of Social Work.
  • Current license in social work in the state of employment, as required by state regulations.
  • CPR and hospital-selected de-escalation technique certification.
  • A knowledge of psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment principles.
  • Three (3) or more years of previous experience in all aspects of social service with an emphasis in the behavioral health setting.

Nice To Haves

  • Mental health professional license in the state of employment to conduct individual/group psychotherapy (e.g., LMSW, LPC, LMFT, LMCPH)
  • Maintains education and development appropriate for position.
  • Previous experience in a free-standing psychiatric setting facility.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations and clinical functions of all outpatient programs under the direction of the Director of Clinical Services.
  • Provide supervision, coaching, and professional development for outpatient clinical staff (LCSWs, MSWs) and unlicensed employees in collaboration with program management staff.
  • Coordinator to ensure timely and accurate reviews.
  • Monitor and evaluate outpatient clinical case consultations to ensure quality, compliance, and effective delivery of services.
  • Participate in the recruitment, onboarding, and training of outpatient clinical staff; assist with scheduling and workload assignments to ensure appropriate coverage and productivity.
  • Support a positive work environment by conducting performance evaluations, recognizing achievements, addressing performance issues, and facilitating staff problem resolution.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Clinical Services to implement program goals, policies, and procedures aligned with current best practices and organizational standards.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with physicians, community partners, vendors, and referral sources to support program growth and service coordination.
  • Assist in program evaluation and improvement efforts to ensure outpatient services are efficient, high quality, and aligned with the organization’s mission and objectives.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Clinical Services.
