About The Position

The Operations Resource Manager is responsible for the daily coordination, scheduling, and deployment of operational resources across the region. This role ensures operational readiness while supporting escalation management, the Motor Vehicle (MV) process, training initiatives, safety compliance, tool management, and adherence to organizational standards. Depending on geographic assignment, the Operations Resource Manager oversees Region 8 NYSDOT processing and payments, coordinates police details for NJ, NY, and CT, and works within all systems used for operations, reporting, and compliance. This role collaborates closely with Operations, Safety, Fleet, and HR.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with NYSDOT Region 8 documentation, police detail processing, and MV reporting (preferred).
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Teams and digital workflow tools.
  • Familiarity with tool tracking systems or hardware management platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily workforce scheduling, shift assignments, and resource allocation.
  • Monitor and analyze workforce productivity, utilization, and key performance metrics to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Lead and support escalation processes, ensuring timely and effective communication and resolution.
  • Identify and lead process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, standardization, and operational effectiveness.
  • Assist in the Motor Vehicle (MV) process, including incident reporting, documentation, follow-up, and corrective action coordination with supervisors.
  • Oversee Region 8 NYSDOT processing and payments, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant submission.
  • Coordinate police details for NJ, NY, and CT, including scheduling, documentation, and payment processing.
  • Manage tool inventory, distribution, tracking, maintenance, and tool-related compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with training for safety, operational, regulatory, and corporate requirements.
  • Use all systems to review reports, update records, manage workflows, assign resources, track compliance, and process operational documentation.
  • Generate and analyze operational reports to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and provide actionable insights to leadership.
  • Support and help facilitate training, onboarding, and refresher courses.
  • Partner with the Safety Team on audits, safety briefings, and incident follow-up.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for certifications, compliance checks, tool assignments, and personnel readiness.
  • Communicate real‑time updates, schedule changes, and operational adjustments.
  • Adjust staffing assignments and resource deployment as operational needs change.
  • Prioritize resources to maintain safety, compliance, and service-level commitments.
  • Approve timekeeping exceptions, schedule adjustments, and administrative updates as delegated.
  • Initiate escalations and determine when leadership involvement is required.
  • Recommend improvements to compliance processes, tool management, training, and operations
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
