About The Position

The Operations Manager reports to the Director, Operations, and will support the daily O&M activities involving the safe and effective operation of the Venture Global Plaquemines production units. The Operations Manager is a pivotal leadership role within our organization, supporting the Director, Operations in executing strategic objectives and management of Operations programs and initiatives to meet the organization's goals. He / She further supports the Day and Shift Superintendents in tactical activities, including execution of operational and people management tasks and other functions as directed for successful operations. This position requires a self-motivated, dynamic and results-driven individual who can collaborate effectively with various stakeholders, including staff, community partners, and funding agencies. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in developing and implementing processes and structures in line with an emerging Operations framework, demonstrate maturity in personnel management, and financial oversight. He / She must be a Safety leader, able to demonstrate and drive a strong safety culture within the wider team, as well as operational ownership, accountability and discipline. Candidates must have exceptional communication and leadership skills, with an ability to navigate complex challenges while maintaining a positive and inclusive work environment. The Operations Manager will assist in formulating policies, setting departmental objectives, and evaluating program outcomes. Additionally, they will lead special projects, facilitate staff development, and represent the organization at community events and meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (chemical, mechanical, or related field) or 5 plus years equivalent experience.
  • Extensive experience in LNG or other petrochemical operations, with a strong understanding of process control, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in operations of CCGTs, preferably with GE 7EA and A200 STG configurations.
  • Commissioning, startup and operations in Oil & Gas, petrochemical, or Independent Power Producer (IPP) facility along with internal electrical distribution systems.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing and optimizing all aspects of the LNG process, from natural gas intake to LNG loading and shipping.
  • Ensuring adherence to strict safety protocols and regulations, including process safety and emergency response procedures.
  • Managing and mentoring a team of process operators, technicians, and other personnel, providing guidance and support to ensure effective performance.
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall plant performance.
  • Ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and industry standards, maintaining accurate records, and preparing reports as required.
  • Supporting the development of and managing the operational budget for the LNG plant, ensuring efficient resource allocation and cost control.
  • Quickly identifying and resolving operational issues, ensuring minimal disruption to plant operations.
  • Communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including management, regulatory agencies, and customers.
  • Managing operational continuity and minimizing downtime during periods of planned and unplanned maintenance activities.
